Location: Mead Rd. Time: 5:00 p.m. Written By: Alex McCann On the first monday of the month the C.C.B.R.O. went to investigate a recent report near saegertown. We met with the witness, Delwood Smith (Meadville Resident), and he took us to the site of the encounter. The first thing we did once arriving at the scene was run through exactly what happened on the night of the sighting. To provide a brief summary; the witness was driving home from work late at night and had a road crossing sighting of an extremely tall, hairy creature. The full report of the sighting can be found in our database at http://ccbrodatabase.weebly.com/pennsylvania.html . Once we confirmed the events that occured we did a small recreation to try and rule out the possibility of it being a human in a suit. The witness reported that the creature only took two steps to get off the road so we had our tallest member move as far as he could with just two steps. Even though our estimate wasn't exact it was very easy to see that the creature in question was far out of the category of "human". It moved nearly twice as far in two steps than our member could which means the possibility of it being a human in a suit doesn't exist. Then we proceeded into the nearby woods to look for any signs of a big animal moving through the area. We didn't have much luck finding tracks or prints which wasn't surprising because it had rained the last three days so hopes weren't very high for that kind of evidence. However, there were still a couple reasons to suggest that something had been through there recently traveling via deer trail. On both sides of the trail there were numerous broken branches that didn't appear to be broken by natural causes and the most convincing factor was a small, pushed down tree. All of the leaves on the tree were still alive so it had been pushed down recently and the roots were still intact. It appeared that something fairly heavy had pushed off and put a lot of its weight on it to get up a hill. Overall, this was a great investigation for our team. It was a local report, we talked with a very credible witness, and we found supporting evidence in the nearby woods. We are hoping to get permission from the landowner soon to go back to the area and perform a night time investigation because all three of us that went there are convinced that this particular woods could be the home of a squatch.
