Location: The Pines (Cabin Side) Time: 11:00 P.M. On the 6th of September, the C.C.B.R.O. traveled to the cabin side of the pines for a night of squatching. There was a fair amount of excitement for the night because we had three guests tagging along. It is always a great time taking new faces into the woods and sharing what we do with others. The team made the voyage into the cabin and then split off into four pairs. Two of the groups went into the pines and split and a third group paralleled them from the other side. The last group climbed up into the cabin and observed. The groups started to make calls back and forth and it didn't take long before we started getting responses. The first few noises weren't squatch-like at all, but it was still a very good sign that the area wasn't completley dead of wildlife. Using the motivation of the first responses the team continued to make calls and sure enough we got a a hit! Three of the groups reported a very high pitched screech type vocalization. C.C.B.R.O. President, Alex McCann, was amazed when he heard this sound come firing back to their calls because it was the exact same noise that he had recorded on an expo in Tionesta on March 29th earlier this year. Even now that six members have heard this vocalization it remains unidentified. It doesn't sound like any animal from the area or anywhere at all for that matter. The bottom line is that we would expect to hear an unidentified noise like that in the woods of Tionesta, but it is a pleasant surprise to hear the exact same thing locally in our area. Maybe our very own Northern Pines aren't completely squatched-out, there is still hope! Members: Alex, Stan, Damon, Evan, Matt Guests: 3 EUP Chicas
